Description

@.@ Download for details, particularly on her face. I worked very hard on her.

Ok I suppose there's more I could have done with this but I have two problems: one, I'm lazy. Two; my laptop can't handle any more. It's becoming waaaay too slow and skwuggy and I have enough problems with it as it is so I thought I'd stop here.

So pokemon fan art! I found my old Japanese Mew card I bought for £1.50 from the Pokemon Shop in town a decade ago when pokemon had reached the height of it's popularity in the UK. Kind of got a wave of nostalgia and felt compelled to draw this. I know my mewman looks a bit odd <.< But I had to draw something human to distract from the appalling Mew XD

EDIT: Wow! So many groups have requested this picture now! Thanks so much guys, you're a real ego boost! Um... I think it's in enough now though XD However feel free to add it to your group favourites if you'd like =3

More pokemon art by me!:

Pose reference from the fabulous *SenshiStock. They have the perfect pose for everything!
And equally fabulous, *redheadstock's glitter and cloud brushes. Brushes for everything! XD
Oh and I adore *psyconorikan's skies so I thought I'd try out that kind of thing.
~monib made the fabulous brush used for the small, transparent bubbles.

I'm going to pass by what everyone else has said, and point out specifically on the design concepts of the human-version of Mew and Mew itself.

In my opinion, the Mew girl doesn't seem very much like Mew design-wise.
In the official pictures Mew's ears do not appear as big or as fuzzy as the girl's ones here. They look more like cones.
The tail also appears more as a lion's tail.

This is important to note. Picture this:
If this girl was drawn without Mew or hints of Mew around, you wouldn't be able to tell she had anything to do with Mew because of how different the designs are to each other.
I'd say, with her mane-like hair supporting this, she appears more of an lion (or lioness)/human hybrid than a Pokemon Gijinka.
Her clothes don't really connect with the image of Mew, either. I guess if I had to ask, here would be some questions of the design:
Why is she wearing boots?
Why does she wear a somewhat revealing dress?
Why does she wear detached sleeves?
Why would they connect with the image of Mew? What is the reason you decided this?
These are just questions to think about.

Aside from the girl....
The Mew you drew here is given a more fuzzy look.
It still looks like Mew, but I do think the ears look a bit too big, considering Mew's original ears.

I know that the girl is pretty much a human version of the Mew depicted here, and maybe not entirely of the Official Mew, but I think the design strategy for her overall is a bit unfitting and confusing. Kind of a blunder if you'd like to say.
