Description

Edit: Thanks for the constructive criticism, people! I heard you and desaturated the pink and added some blue hues so it blends in with the rest of the pic a little more. I also softened the edges of it further. On top of that, I dulled the collarbone because someone pointed out it stood out too much. I also fixed the eyebrows. Nobody noticed them but they were really uneven. Now they're slightly less uneven. Best I can do XD End Edit.

I'm getting through these! Slowly...

Please fullview. You can see the details through the softness (which I liked =3)

So here is what I hope is an adorable portrait of young Princess Zelda. Used the manga for reference. I hate her child design so I played with it a little bit. Had I thought it through, I would have done a better job XD Anyway, I'm aware of alterations I have made to the costume so please nobody correct me on that. I'm also aware that Zelda's hair is straight but I like curly hair =3 Also: GOD, THAT BLOODY HEADSCARF.

This was good, actually. It was an opportunity to practice painting children. I loosely modelled her features off my little sister Ashleigh who is nine so roughly the right age... sort of. Her nose and mouth XD And the expression, well a lot of thought went into it. Seriously you have no idea how many times I changed the mouth from serious so smiley to serious and finally a ghost of a smile and sad eyes because this little lady has a lot going on.

That necklace was a bitch. I know it's uneven but it was such a nightmare, I don't even care XD

The BG is deliberately vague. I like the main portrait, there wasn't a lot of background space and I've seen other artists do the cross-hatch painty thingy before so I wanted to try it using colours I used in her eyes.

I really don't like my shading on the clothes. They came out looking a little bit plasticky. The face was the easiest part by far and I think that came out best. Anyway, all critiques are welcome as long as they are not rude, and you have read the artists comments.

Ohey! I bothered with textures. They're barely noticeable unless you download but I like them because they add a little extra to it XD

[link] by ~hyenacub-stock is the texture used on the pink parts.
[link] by *amberxsupernova is the texture used on the white parts.
[link] by *Inthename-Stock is the barely visible texture used in the BG.

I talk a lot...

This is indeed a great work of art. The little Hylian princess is adorable. I think this nice work is amazing and beautifully made.
It's perfect, it couldn't have been better in my opinion. The portrait looks so alive.
Also, the shadows in her face is very good. And her clothings are perfect. It all fits together so well. It's also nice with the triforce on her hat. I wish I could make stuff like this.
No improvements needed here, this is awesome the way it is. It must've taken a while to make this masterpiece.

Nintendo would've been very proud. <img src="e.deviantart.net/emoticons/s/s…" width="15" height="15" alt=":)" data-embed-type="emoticon" data-embed-id="391" title=":) (Smile)"/>
